The debate for who the greatest basketball player of all time will never truly end as all people will have a different opinion. So, here is the case as to why Jordan is the greatest of all time. Starting with his accolades on the basketball court he is a NCAA champion, 6 time NBA champion, 10 time all NBA first team, 9 all defensive first team, 1 defensive player of the year, 5 time most valuable player, 10 time scoring champion, 6 time finals mvp, 3 times steals leader, and a rookie of the year. This is one of the most complete lists of accomplishments of all time and not many players even come close. There are some that due however so there needs to be more as to why he is the greatest of all time. Jordan was also one of the most competitive players ever with a compulsive need to win in everything he did. Jordan has also faced a total of 23 hall of famers in the playoffs and in the vast majority of these has beaten them including 9 of the 23 coming in the finals to which he has gone a perfect 6 for 6 with the 6 finals MVPs. Jordan has also won all 6 of these finals with only one of his teammates ever making an all star game while he played with them. This is something that a lot of the other players up for the debate can’t also claim as a majority of them played with more than one teammate who made an all star team while playing with them. Jordan also has one of the best career averages ever in the 5 major statistical categories with 30.1 points per game, 6.2 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 2.3 steals, and .8 blocks. All of this alone is incredibly hard for anyone to top and make the case for greatest of all time.
